"toppers can't have a love life. That's the notion we are all living with. And science toppers, "ghor paap hai unke liye to." But, I don't think that is the case. Hard to believe, I know. So, let me just tell you a story. A real life story....
Like every story this story too has a protagonist, Ankit Saxena, a guy who dreams to be in IIT Bombay(CSc), and to make his dream come true, he goes to VMC pitampura. A daily pilgrimage of an hour and a half with the delhi Metro. And like most toppers, he also is in the best batch.
Next up we have the heroine, ritika garg, a medical aspirant who dreams of becoming a cardiologist in AIMS Delhi. She fulfils her dream in Aakash institute, south extension. For her the travel time in the metro is of one hour. Apart from that there are the typical best friends.
One fine morning, both of them board into the pink line metro at Mayur Vihar. And mere coincidence so happened that they ended sitting next to each other. The metro enters a long stretch of below the ground tracks at nizamuddin. That is where the internet cannot reach. And that is where people realise that there are other people accompanying them. There ankit heard ritika asking her friend "yaar, I will never be able to memorise these solid state defects." And helping others with their difficulties is what ankit enjoyed. Thus he said, "excuse me, the best way to memorise things is to make your own catchy parallels. " "ohh... And how are we supposed to do that?" Came the reply. "For instance, to remember the defects you may make something like...फासले मिटाने के लिए हम cubic closed packed structure बना रहे थे, पर वो कंबख्त frenkel defect बन कर interstices में जा बैठी।" the listeners erupted into a laughter. "That's was quite nice...." Said ritika with a smile.
And that was how these two people met. Within four weeks they got quite close, getting to know about their common interests, common subjects, and even their common day of traveling. It was quite visible that these two were into each other. So their friends deliberately left them alone.
Then one day, ritika said very casually "you know what ankit, you are really a boyfriend material." Ankit quite surprised said"is this some kind of hint, that I need to pick up?""maybe" came the reply. Both of them couldn't stop smiling. And then a really awkward moment created in the metro, ankit balancing himself against the inertia, sat on his knees and proposed. And ritika kindly accepted, with everyone in the coach staring at them.
This marked the beginning of their sweet relationship.Both of them eagerly waiting for every week's Thursday, when they could be together. He saved her number as Ritik. and she saved his as Ankita. For their first date they got of at INA and went to the on station 'burger king'. They made a really interesting couple. We won't delve deeper into the cheesy things. What happened further, it depends on your imagination…..
